Feeding the ducks at Wyndley Pool, Sutton Coldfield

Fans of feeding the ducks are spoilt for choice in Sutton Coldfield! After our venture to Blackroot Pool, we moved on to find Wyndley Pool on the outskirts of Sutton Park. Sadly, people were pulling up in their cars and emptying whole bags of bread into the pool – we’ll be telling folk “bread is bad for ducks” for some time yet it seems!

We moved well away from the bread feeders and enjoyed offering a little “Quack Snack” to the ducks who preferred to avoid the feeding riot elsewhere.

Feeding the ducks in Lichfield

Team Quack Snacks visited the lovely city of Lichfield and found plenty of scenic spots for feeding the ducks – although sadly also the usual batch of folk tossing bread into the water right next to signs advising that bread is bad for the ducks. The ducks seem perfectly happy to accept something healthier as our little video shows!

Feeding the ducks: at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham 16/02/2017

Despite the background noise of a big city, for a brief moment everything seemed tranquil, with the Canada Geese floating serenely by. It’s a great place for a lunchtime walk.

The peace had been shattered a little earlier when someone dumped – literally dumped – a load of something or other at one end of the pond, resulting a noisy crowd of geese and pigeons on the pavement by the MAC. Not exactly responsible feeding – but then the bread feeders were around too, despite a large sign asking people to not do so.

The other end of the pool was however much quieter, where I found this pair of willing volunteers to try a blend of oats and duck pellets. They didn’t leave a crumb!
